Founders' Talk!
“With confidence I submitted my application for a granting opportunity. The Kareative Kollective and I, appreciate the process, the thought provoking critique and constructive concepts to improve its overall feel and possibility.” Osagyefo founder Kareative Interlude
“Being exposed to different ways of planning, presenting and communicating my ideas and vision has been invaluable. Especially because I found a sense of community by meeting strong, inspiring Black entrepreneurs who were teaching and supporting the whole cohort along the way. Capacity building, giving us the tools to build the skills and resilience is important for us as a Black community, especially as we move towards building economic resiliency and bring prosperity as entrepreneurs. These are the skills that I have been building through Empowered 4x.” Yamila Franco, founder of Nyoka Design Labs.
“There Bootcamp program was great! The guest speakers brought a lot of knowledge and insight into deeper topics needed for a successful business. It provided me with a deep dive into my business. Building a business is more than a fancy website or social media page. It’s knowing how to pull the necessary pieces together in order to create a bigger system that runs and operates independently without you so you are not working in your business but on it.” Shakira Rouse, founder of Special Compass.

SEVEN STRATEGIES TO HELP BUSINESSES TO RETURN TO POST- COVID-19 SOLVENCY
1. Evaluate the post-COVID-19 pandemic, “current state,” and “future state” projections that develop strategies to help to return to a healthy state of the business.
2. Evaluate the intrinsic and extrinsic conditions affecting the business, relative to the type of business, size, and capacity, and strive to eliminate, mitigate, and manage the central issues.
3. Examine the state of the supply chains for flexibility and security of supply and negotiate long-term agreements as a trade-off for a price reduction.
4. Maintain and analyze the work from home option as a cost savings strategy to the beginning of the last quarter, until the buying season begins.
5. Reduce discretionary spending and delay upgrades unless associated with an income-producing approach such as digitally transforming the business.
6. Tap into support services such as E4X Inc. with long-term strategic goals, rather than a short-term fix.
7. Develop a strategy to build contingency (inclusive) into future operations business operations, including forming alliances with related entities.
To close the digital gap, underserved founders need to achieve digital transformation in business. EMPOWERED 4X Inc. will provide business education, digital support, and invest in founders with businesses that demonstrate post COVID-19 resilience. More importantly, the ability to adapt to new technologies to survive and thrive in the emerging Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) or Industry 4.0.
A business accelerator is a program that gives developing companies access to mentorship, investors and other support that help them become stable, self-sufficient businesses.
We assess the readiness of each founders to engage them in the pre-seed accelerator program to support their transition to engage with Venture Capitalists, Angel Investors, and other investors. These enterprises would typically be producing revenues of less
than $15K monthly.
“More than 80 percent of venture firms don’t have a single black investor and just one percent of venture-funded startup founders are black,” according to BLCK VC.
